How To Get What You Want From People!

Hey Guys!

I'm back again! I told you I would see you in two weeks and here I am! I'm loving the consistency!
Today is not a long post at all! I just wanted to share a life lesson with you that has really manifested for me over the past few months. I'm a person who doesn't gel well with rejection if I'm honest. I don't particularly like it nor do I take well to other people saying no to me and because of this, I've found myself just not asking.

And whilst this seems to be a sure fire way to avoid rejection, it also means that you miss out a lot on life and what it has to offer. So many times we are too scared to ask people for things when really all we had to do is ask and we would have received. The way to get what you want from people is to ASK! Trust me it seems very silly to point that out but we tend to assume the worst in people or sometimes underestimate ourselves and in the process miss out on so many things.

I'll use myself as an example, I have a YouTube channel which you can check out here! (I know shameless self promo) and I am not a big channel by any means, I'm a little way from 600 subscribers and I wanted to do both a summer lookbook and a tasting video (both of which I will link down below of course) but as I was a small channel I doubted that any company would want to send me anything when there were Youtubers with 100 0000s of subscribers but with encouragement from my friends, I thought why not and emailed two companies, telling them about my channel and what I would like to do and how I would like to work with them and to my surprise, both companies were willing to work with me. And they genuinely sounded excited to be a part of my channel and sent me items for free to feature.

I could not believe that these established companies would even want to work with a small time YouTube like me or how easy it would be but alas it was! All i had to do was ask and it happened.

So here I am challenging you guys to be more open and just ask for what you want. You would be surprised how many people are more open than you suppose.

I will see you guys in two weeks time! Lots and lots of love. And if you want to catch up with me in the interim, you can follow me on my social media.

Summer Outfits || Everything5pounds.com

Hey Guys!

Summer is upon us! (Although you wouldn't know it with the UK weather moodswings) and I thought I would share with you guys a few summer outfits ideas! I decided to incorporate Everything5pounds.com as they are an online retailer with amazing quality for only £5! Shoes, bags, clothes, accessories...you name it!
If you would like to see a visual lookbook of the clothes features here, you can check them out on my youtube channel here!

1. Ocassionwear- Black Lace Jumpsuit
This is my absolute favorite piece from Everything5pounds- it's a black jumpsuit with a lace overlay which are tucked in in these pictures but can be seen clearly in the Lookbook.

Not only is the quality of this piece superb but it hugs my body soooooo sooo perfectly and brings you in and makes you feel like you're wearing a bodice. I'll tell you now I felt all types of sophisticated and sexy in this jumpsuit.

It's certainly one of those outfits you need in your wardrobe for when you want to slay the hell out people. (Example 1- meeting your ex's new partner for the first time)

2. Barbecue- Print Maxi Skirt

This skirt is a popular one, the vibrant prints, the fun vibes! it's so easy to pair with other basics. You can also dress it up with heels or dress it down with sandals! It's so effortlessly chic and the best part is that its very stretchy so I got it in a size 8 even though I'm usually a size 10/12 and it still fits perfectly. The slit detail also adds that trendy in style.

3. Event - Neon Pink Laser Cutout Skirt

This skirt is so beautiful it's unreal! From the way it hugs you to the beautiful laser cut out on the hem, it's a perfect statement piece both to stand out at any event and that can be easily paired without looking like you're doing too much but you still tried. It's bodycon and literally just perfect. It is true to size and fits like a glove. The pictures don't do it enough justice but you can see the details better on the visual loobook.

4. Beach- Printed Culottes

I won't lie to you guys, I've not always been the biggest fan of culottes, I've even mocked them a couple times before. But when I saw these on the website, I thought why not give them a shot and I am IN LOVE  with these guys! Culottes are life, especially paired with great heels. They're so flattering yet stylish at the same time. I am officially a Culotte convert and just love how effortless they are to wear.

So those were the 4 items of clothing from Everything5pounds and I genuinely loved every single one of them. I chose statement pieces because I believe summer is about being vibrant and colorful and loud and I feel like all those things in these pieces! I hope you guys have a great summer and I will catch you in the next post. Lots and lots of love.

Modelling Scams! Beware!

Guess who's back??

Hey Guys, so yes it has been a while, and I know this post won't be relevant to all of you but if  you have any sisters, girlfriends, friends who are or trying to get into modelling, this may be useful for them.

Basically, I have been the victim of unlimited, uncountable instances of this trend. The thing is I'm just about 5,7 and I have the kind of body shape which although draws plenty attention in the club is not exactly what the modelling world would call perfect. Basically I'm not tall and slim, so I should have known becoming a model would not be easy but in my naive mind when they told me I was gorgeous and this and that, I let myself believe the lies and that is all they are...Lies!

There are now 'modelling agencies' everywhere who will post an ad on gumtree, the internet, or even have websites where you send in a picture of you and they call you telling you you're everything they want and they will get you plenty of jobs. Sounds great right? No, they tell you they have so many jobs lined up only for them to tell you  you just need a portfolio first. Magically they always have their own personal photographer that YOU have to use because they never trust anybody else. Long story short, you go for some crappy photo-shoot, you pay over money and you never hear from them again.

I have been subject to so many of these, I feel so ashamed to even tell you how much, having spent over £1200. All I ended up with was a bunch of pictures that each new 'agency' would say is not professional enough.

1. You never need to pay to join a reputable modelling agency. If you have to pay, think twice.

2. It is more likely that modelling agencies will discover you themselves, if you had to send your picture in to some dodgy website, think twice.

3. scope the environment when you go in...if it looks unprofessional and it's just 2 or 3 people in a warehouse office, think would a reputable agency capable of getting me loads of work have such a crap office.

4. Portfolio is not built in a day, all you need are some good natural head shots and poses to sell yourself. Portfolios are supposed to show your versatility, this wont be portrayed through just one shoot.

Basically just be careful, if someone is offering you something which seems to good to be true, chances are it is actually too good to be true.
There are so many of these scam agencies in London especially but also in Manchester, feel free to hit me up, I'll gladly give you their names.
Better to be rejected from a reputable company than swindled by these fortune hunting scammers.

I put in some of the pictures I ended up in various photoshoots, they were never good enough and I always had to take some new ones.

The 'I don't want a relationship' excuse AKA The Commitment Phobe

Hey Guys!

So I'm back on youtubing again!!! I started it way back when but just got lazy cause it requires so much effort but as part of my NY resolution, I'm back and I've already posted a new video. I'll leave the link below and make sure to check me out. Like, comment and subscribe.

So, we all know that guy/girl right, you're seeing them, everything is going well, you think this could be going somewhere, then they drop that 'I'm just not ready for a relationship' line. This line can come in various forms, for example:

I don't want a relationship right now...if I did, it would deffo be with you, I just don't.
I'm too busy with school/work/mymusic, and a relationship would distract me
I'm still hurting from my last relationship (this was about 2 years ago) and I don't want to jump in another one.

It doesn't matter how it's phrased, the bottom line is the person wants to have the benefits of a relationship with you but they don't want to be in a relationship with you. What do I advice?

RUN! RUN NOW! Don't put on your shoes, don't take your bag, just run. Only 1 in 35 people who use this excuse mean it. (I made that up but still), the other 34 are selling you dreams.  (Lying). Men are hunters by nature, when they see something, they go for it, they won't waste time faffing around because he won't want anyone to get a chance to have you. Work is not an excuse because nobody works 24/7, past relationships are not good enough if there has been sufficient time between them.

Girls also know what they want, and they wont play around with a guy that they want because they know there are plenty single girls out there waiting to take him so if she's claiming she's not ready, boy RUN!

When they're saying I don't want a relationship, what they really mean, is I don't want a relationship with YOU, trust me when someone meets someone they REALLY like, they will not hesitate in cuffing them immediately. Don't be the girl/guy who stuck around and waited for someone to be ready just to find out he met someone he finally decided he could commit to and asked her out straight away.

If someone says they have a fear of commitment, do this simple test to see if it's really true:
1. Do they have a phone contract (that about 2 yearsthere) if he can enter a 2 year commitment then why cant he commit to you? He doesn't want to!
2. Does he support a football team. Football fans are LOYAL! their team will lose every game of the season and they'll still be loyal. He has the ability to commit. just not to you.

Just remember Beyonce, Obama, Chris Brown all have 'busy' lives and they can still manage to find time to be in a relationship so what position exactly does this guy/girl hold? My dear don't be a learner!

Ofc these are my opinions based on my experiences and you may have a different view so feel free to comment below and tell me what you think.

Why making people jealous never really works!

Hey Guys,

So I'm going to tell you a short story:

There was a girl and a boy, they liked each other,
started getting to know each other and started seeing each other,
one day they were together in a big group of friends,
Their relationship wasn't official yet so the guy didn't show any affection towards her,
he treated her like every other girl in the room,
she didn't like this so went to her room with his friend to talk,
it was purely friendly and their conversation was platonic
but she knew in the back of her mind, he would be disturbed.
When they came downstairs, she could see he was miffed,
but she acted cool, as if nothing was amiss,
he acted cool too and they started speaking again.
Only for her to find him being inappropriate with another girl,
she told him what she had saw and he reminded her she had just been upstairs with his friend,
making her think he wanted her to see him with another girl and feel the way he previously felt.

In order to get back at him, she called another guy in his earshot
laughing and giggling, making his head turn.
The next time they went out as a group, he kissed another girl,
Right in front of her, he made the girl twirl.
Humiliated and embarrassed, the girl vowed she was done.
Believing he had only wanted her for fun.
Their relationship deteriorated and what was once sweet, became bitter.

There is a break in the story because everything after that break was fictitious, everything before it are true life events. I put the fictitious paragraph in to tell you how quickly something that started off platonic and harmless could escalate in you losing the chance to have something real.

When you try to make people jealous, it doesn't work because 9 times out of 10 (made up statistic), they only try to make you jealous too and so the cycle begins until one of you ends up going too far and hurting the other person. Pride then kicks in, preventing you from addressing the original situation.

You end up playing the blame game, you did this, yes because you did this, yes but that was only because you did this. When you could've spent all that time you spent arguing, being with each other. Of course there is also the possibility that the person doesn't even get jealous and instead just decides you're not worth it. In which case you find yourself in a lose-lose situation.

The point of the post? When you feel the urge to make someone jealous, think to yourself 'is it really worth it? If he retaliated, would I be able to handle it or would it hurt me more than I would be willing to admit? If you're the one on the receiving ends of these antics, rather than retaliate, why not tackle them first and let them know what they did wasn't right?

Comment below what you think and don't forget to share and subscribe.

Boxing Day Sales- How I styled these heels!

Happy New Year Guys,

Sorry it's coming so late, Revision is getting the most of my attention lately but I couldn't resist making this post! So as per usual tradition and custom, me and my sister went out for the boxing day sales and initially I was quite disappointed, River Island, Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, none of them had anything that attracted me. On my way home, I decided to branch into Matalan and I was pleasantly surprised. EVERYTHING was on sales! They had the most gorgeous things, shoes, dresses, everything for terribly cheap prices. My sister will testify that I was over the moon. I'm not afraid to say I definitely went crazy and probably embarrassed her a little.

Though I knew Matalan had great quality items, I usually associated them with older people, but this was not so. I got myself a lovely red dress, 3 pairs of shoes, some playsuits for me and my sister, something for the parents, some underwear, about 3 tops, all for under £70. But of all my purchases, these babies were my absolute favourite!

I saw them and fell in love! Just fell in love and had to wear them to church on the first Sunday of the year. This is how I styled them; I initially wanted to wear them with some leather pants and a white tee but I think they worked well with this dress as well. The best part about the shoes is they're only £7!!!!! Yes that's right! Plus they're quite comfortable for ankle strap heels so it's a win win.
Drop a comment and let me know what you think or how you would have styled them. And don't forget to follow and share!

Short hair on a Round face!

Hey Guys!

So you know the new year is always here so I was exploring and thinking of new ways to have my hair. The thing is I have a pretty round face (at least I think so) with a very wide smile so I've always stuck to the conventional hair past my shoulders, thick full hair kinda thing but just this week, I was in between hair styles and my mama suggested I try a pixie cut, I was like are you kidding? (I didn't actually say that to my African mum) My face is too round, I'd have to pout permanently to look decent but I tried it anyway and was pleasantly surprised. I got so much compliments and I think it really suits me. I'm thinking of making it my permanent hairstyle.

I guess it just goes to show that even if you're not completely sure on something or doubting if it'll work, give it a go and you never know, you may be pleasantly surprised like I was.

 Me with normal hair

too scared to smile incase it doesn't bang!
Which do you prefer? Do you think it suits my face? Or am I just decieving myself?

Weight Loss journey!

Hey Guys!

So I just finished an intense work out session with my flatmate and I am feeling soooo good! Never realised how good exercise actually makes you feel. When you're doing it, it feels like the world would end anytime soon, but as soon as you're done, you just feel happy that you're healthier and proud of yourself that you've achieved so much.

I've been meaning to get right for a while in terms of my health and fitness but I've just been too lazy so when my flatmate burst in and announced she wanted to get fit in 6 weeks, I thought why not, let me use this opportunity. Now I have the type of body that unless you look closely, it looks on point, behind closed doors, only I know what's really going on but by embarking on this journey I'm hoping to make my body look good in public and in private.

Of course this means fixing my diet as well! For those who know me they know I am literally the queen of chocolate, like I consume immense amounts of chocolate in one sitting and by one sitting I mean several large packets a day, but today I was able to control myself and didn't buy a single chocolate(boy the struggle was real, trust me!!) but it made me feel proud of myself. (I ended up buying do-nuts to substitute the sugar rush but shhh no one needs to know that.)

So basically this post is to make sure I'm accountable to someone and hopefully guilt trip me into sticking to this journey. If I give up after a few days I may just delete this post and pretend this never happened lol. Feel free to start the journey with me and I hope to be posting pictures, recipes, and progress throughout the phase.

In the meantime, here are some links to some of my favourite work out videos:

1. Tae Bo is actually amazing, like seriously, this guy does not play about. He throws you in the deep end and expects you to swim!! Fast!! But if you're resilient you will love the results.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVwv0bUEJpE

2. Only just came across this today and I am soo in love with it. It's a 2 part dance routine. One african themed and one carribean themed. I found myself sweating by the bucket but yet having fun. I definitely reccomend this if you are a beginner and if you're a good dancer you will love it even more.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq7IDD0Ye1Y

3. Everybody loves some Zumba!! This put a smile on my face and got me me working up a sweat.

Boots! Boots! Boots! Part 2!!

4. The UGGS
No Boot list would be complete without a traditional set of Uggs, it's like the potatoes of roast dinner (random analogy there but there you go), These are of course not real (Are you noticing a pattern here?) but they serve me well when I'm feeling SUPER casual that day or just running to the store. I got mine in a lovely navy colour and also have a stone one to match.

5. The ankle boots!
These are just a staple! I'm not gonna bore you with details but who doesn't need ankle boots huh? Great with jeans, skirts, maybe not dresses but you get the gist. This lovely pair was on sale from sports direct for only £13!!! I deffo love the Aztec print too though!

6.The fur wedge!
This one was mostly me being greedy but if you can't have fur during winter time, I don't know when you can. Wedge also makes it a little more versatile so sometimes if I'm feeling like beyonce and don't want to wear flats to uni, I can put on my wedge boots and feel special without people judging me for wearing heels.

7. Finally...The shoe boots!!! (aka Booties)
These are literally the best things I have ever invested in!! They literally just go with everything! Like seriously, Everything!! Jeans and a shirt, a nice body con dress, a midi skirt, an a line skirt, you name it, these shoes will work it! Even more amazing is that I got it on sale for a very REDUCED  price at boohoo, I am definitely in love!

So those are my 7 staple booties for the winter season. Feel free to comment below if you would like me to do a post on how I style each shoe otherwise feel free to follow the page!!

Boots! Boots! Boots!

Hey Guys!

So winter season is upon us and I thought what better way to get ready than to do a Boot Post! Most of my friends know I'm not really into Boots cause I always feel like they make me look short and stumpy (I'm not, I'm just short of 5,7) but in my head boots remove the 7 at the end so I generally stay away from them but this winter I looked at my cupboard and thought i actually have a decent amount of booties! So here I am showing you my 2014 boot collection. Boots I believe every girl needs in her wardrobe this summer to tie all outfits together. Now I've had some of the shoes for a while so they won't be looking 100% fantastic but I'm expecting you to use your expert imagination to picture what they would have looked like when I bought them so starting us off is:

1. The wedged Sneaker
Lool, yes I know they're trainers to us Londoners but I'm an honorary american for this post so I shall refer to them as sneakers. I know these have  taken the world by storm lately, ranging from the ugly mould coloured ones to the jewelled ones so I thought why not grab myself a pair. Something about having the grace of walking in heels whilst having the sporty look really appeals to me. It's just the most stylish way to do casj! I got mine in a green, red and white pair from eBay for a really cheap price.

2. The Fake Timbs
Obviously, the fake part is optional, if you happen to be rocking real Timberlands that is great!! Lol, i actually do have a real pair but I saw this stylish pair from Asos and I snapped it up real quick. This is for when I wanna go for the Rough Masculine look so I pair it with Jeans and a T-shirt or even when I want to balance out a feminine outfit So I go for a shirt, skirt and throw on my Timbs.

3. The Knee Length Boots
This was my biggest indecisive purchase! Like I'm naturally indecisive but it must have taken me at least 5 days to decide whether or not to buy this
pair! The problem of making me look short and stocky again. It actually does do that in some outfits but when I throw them on with a pair of skinny Jeans, they not only look great but they also make me feel super sexy. The versatile black colour also makes it a win with any outfit. I snapped this up on sale at Boohoo.

Stay tuned for part 2 where I'll show you the rest of my boots collection!!
